Intro to Knitting

Description: Knitting can be a helpful hobby in the winter when you need a scarf for extra warmth or a sturdy needle to chip your way out of a frozen cabin.Led by owner Suzie Liles, the experienced instructors at Eugene Textile Center teach students basic stitchery during two-hour introduction to knitting classes. Fledgling fiber artists learn how to cast on, create knit and purl stitches, and train playful cats to wind their yarn as purling professors deliver hands-on instruction and demonstrate proper techniques. Evening classes are BYOB, so knitters can sip self-procured libations as they stitch. Each class includes the necessary knitting materials to handcraft a scarf that students can bring home with them after the session or wrap around a cold snowman prone to laryngitis. |
