Lunatic Fringe Yarns
The Tubular Spectrum is a set of 20 yarns in a spectrum of colors based on a color system developed by Munsell, an American painter. In 1905, he published a color system that uses five colors as the primary colors: red, yellow, blue, green and purple.
In addition to the 20 colors, the Tubular Spectrum line has been expanded to include five shades of gray plus black and white. These work wonderfully to highlight a color, or to tone colors down when used incrementally with colors.
Lunatic Fringe contracts with a U.S. dyehouse to produce the Tubular Spectrum yarns. These mercerized cotton yarns are dyed with the best fiber reactive dyes for superior colorfastness. Because the yarns are dyed with fiber reactive dyes, discharge techniques work well with the Tubular Spectrum yarns.
All 27 colors are available in 10/2 mercerized cotton.
Tubular Spectrum yarns are available individually on cones and all together in various combinations in our kits.
